BRIS
A RE-DESIGN PROJECT
Year: 2023
Client: Bris
The Challenge
Bris knew that many children and young people were not taking part in the valuable information and support available on their website. They wanted to understand why and how the platform could be redesigned to better meet the needs of their main audience, children aged 10–18.
The outcome
The redesign made the platform safer and more intuitive, enabling children to more easily find the help and information they needed. By improving structure and navigation – for example, moving the menu to the bottom of the screen to better suit smaller hands – more young users could access Bris’ valuable resources. The new site became more accessible, relevant, and engaging for its audience, while also giving the organization clear guidelines for future development.
The APPROACH
Through research and user testing with children and young people, we uncovered the main issue: the site’s structure and navigation often prevented kids from reaching important content. Based on these insights, we designed solutions that improved clarity, accessibility and trust. Working closely with Bris’ team, I ensured that both design and content supported usability and the sensitive nature of the context. Iterative prototypes and continuous feedback led to a platform tailored to children’s needs — intuitive, safe and user-friendly.
